AMAZING 7

Saturday night I went to Orlando to see John Mayer’s “Continuum” show. Words can’t describe how amazing the show was. Everything about the show exceeded my expectations. The band was amazing. The show kicked off with a fairly mellow rendition of “Vultures”, followed by one off my favorite “trio” songs, “Good Love is on the Way”. My top three songs of the evening are:

“Neon” – Amazing guitar solo’s and an incredible tenor sax solo…

“Good Love is on the Way” – The band sounded amazing…

“Gravity” – About nine minutes of John Mayer showing off…

To cap things off…I am personally confirming the rumors. Jessica Simpson was there. They never introduced her, but she was side stage during set up, and then right down below us in the sound booth for the rest of the show. She danced to John’s music the entire time which made for an interesting dilemma…who do I watch? (This is where Kristin gets angry)…No, but seriously, John would be throwing down some crazy solo, and I would turn to Kristin only to find her eyes fixed on Jessica…”Look! She’s getting a drink of water”…So, now that I know how much she loves the amazingly entertaining life of Jessica Simpson, I think I am going to by her the last two seasons of “Newlyweds”. I’m sure that they are pretty cheap now that Nick and Jessica are divorced. Here are some pictures from the show:

“Some” Assembly Required 5

This post shows me doing what I do best…manual labor…Yeah, generally after a full day of school and teaching guitar I like to come home, whip out the tools and just create something out of nothing. There’s no feeling like working with your hands. After all, “I’m a man. A man who built the Eiffel Tower out of steel and bronz.” (Thanks Ron Burgundy) Truthfully…I never do things like this. Building this TV stand not only took me over three hours, but I am pretty sure it shaved a few years off my life…On top of all that, it may have cost me my integrity. Oh yeah, and what I said earlier about “creating something out of nothing” that “nothing” came in a box that weighed about 125lbs and had a twenty-five page manual that explained how to connect each of the 2,094 pieces with it’s appropriate “letter coded” counterpart. I learned a very important lesson. “Some assembly required” actually means, “This is the equivalent of a 3D jigsaw puzzle for adults.”
