The Number 23

Tonight I saw the movie The Number 23 with my friend Drew. In the movie, Jim Carrey plays a man who becomes obsessed with the number 23 after reading a book that his wife gives him for his birthday. (HIs birthday happens to be February 3rd or 2/3) After many eerie parallels Carrey is convinced that the book is based on his life and spins deeper into his obsession the number 23. Everything about his life can be mathematically brought down to the number and eventually leads Carrey on a search for deranged killer. The movie is thrilling and sent me out of the theater feeling a little on edge. I was not looking forward to returning to my extremely empty home. I was doing fine until my mom called on the way home. My cell phone doesn’t get clear service in my house so I stood in the driveway as we finished our conversation. This time spent staring at my house gave me a moment to contemplate the numbers which make up my new address:

4+8+2+9 = 23
As if that wasn’t enough, I decided to go inside and take a few minutes to unwind in front of the TV. So I grabbed a can of my favorite beverage, Dr. Pepper:

How many flavors was that again? 23.
My school ID #: 2387**
My phone #: 233-85**
I need to go to bed. Good night.

I always knew something wasn’t right with you. My diagnosis: screwed.
Unfortunately, if I follow the pattern…Best friend’s are the first to go…
You are so weird…Don’t kill me. -Kristin
It finally all makes sense to me…
You’re getting married on 3.11.2007
3 + 11 +2 +0 +0 +7 = 23
It’s kinda cheating, but it still works.
Hey not funny. Take it back.
Isn’t there still a rule at SEU about attending these questionable movies?
There’s also a one o’clock curfew…You’re also not supposed to park in handicap spots. You’re also not supposed to swim in the pool after 11pm…Have I done all of those things? Yes.
