Counting Sheep
Â
For the last three nights I have consistently woken up at around 4am. My body just wakes up as though my alarm has gone off…And, of course, I can’t go back to sleep. This was particularly frustrating last night, as I had an 8 o’clock class this morning.
Question: When counting sheep, are you supposed to visualize them one at a time? Or are you supposed to visualize a whole field of sheep and count them that way? i tend to visualize a hand-made wooden fence and one by one the sheep jump over it.

Please someone give this boy a remedy so he will stop whining about it all the time. I am a really compassionate person but it seems (God love him) that this issue is not only making him miserable but me too. He wakes me up when he can’t sleep by tossing & turning & pulling covers & getting up, ect. I really need someone to give him an answer….Quick! Before tonight~!

Jordan,
Get a new pillow.
Oz
Two tylenol pm’s at 10pm makes a yummy nights sleep!!
i too envision the hand-made wooden fence with sheep jumping over it–one at a time, of course.
it’s never helped me get to sleep though…
I heard once that a remedy instead of counting sheep is to picture a uncoloring picture of a horse and begin to fill in the colors as if coloring it in your mind. Supposedly before the picture is complete you will be asleep! Let me know how it works.
Taking sleeping pills will make you dependent on them. Like Oz said, pillows can make a big difference, that or maybe some exercise in the evening to tire yourself out some more.
Some sort of local anesthetic should do the trick just fine….
Shocking news:
I don’t sleep with a pillow. Ever.
I forgot to mention that so far Natalie gets the prize for most creative answer/
