Compromise

Milks

My wife likes fat free milk. I’m convinced that fat free milk is simply water that’s been died white. I’m on the other end of the spectrum. I’m a whole milk fan all the way. For a while we were compromising by buying 2%…Now we each buy a half gallon of our preferred milk. I’m not really sure we’re compromising at all. We’re both getting what we want.

The point is, compromise is one of those words that can go either way. In context compromise can be both negative and positive. Compromising milk – good. Compromising integrity or beliefs – bad. You understand, ’cause you’re really smart.

Fat free milk IS water that has been died white.

2% is NOT a compromise. It’s almost as bad as fat free. I say whole milk or no milk. That is how God intended it.
(It’s also a great source of Vitamin D)

Thanks men of the family…Way to back me up. I’d like to thank Bobby for taking it a step further and noting that even 2% is 98% lacking.

Good point. 2% was not a compromise at all. 50% milk…that would have been a compromise. 2% was Kristin getting it 98% her way! Men unite!

That’s like if she wanted the whole bed to herself and you begging to at least keep your pillow when you go to sleep on the cold floor. Hardly a compromise.

    :)

The floor’s not that cold…You get used to it after a week or two.

    Whole milk is so choice!

Concerning milk, the worst kind of battle is between a 2% drinker and a 1% drinker.

The best milk comes straight from the udder…

To all of the not so educated in nutrition men that already commented.

    1. fat free milk has all of the same nutrients, vitamins (including D), & calcium as whole milk.

    2. the Florida depatement of nutrition for Women Infants and Children recommend whole milk for pregnant or lactating women and growing children over the age of one due to their need for extra fat consumption for fetal brain development and rapid growth in small children.

So as for science or nutrition backing you up, sorry. It is simply a matter of taste and watching your weight! Two thumbs up to the sister who is making healthy living choices! Mom would be proud!

(In reference to the milk) You might be tough in front of the boys Jordan, but when it comes to satisfying my desires…you always do!

The vitamins, calcium, & Minerals which are in Whole milk are the exact same in skim. The only difference is the fat content is less. If you set a bowl of milk out on the counter of each kind of milk you will see in a day how lard like the whole milk becomes and how pure the fat free stays. Of course I prefer 1% or 2% but I am doing my arteries a favor. You should too! So I don’t want to hear any more male bickering over this issue!

    Natalie,

    1. It may be a healthy living choice, but drinking whole milk is a luxury living choice like diamonds or high thread count sheets. It’s one of the little things that can be done to promote a luxurious life.

    2. If you ever use the word “lactating” on my blog again, I swear.

  12. Natalie on September 24th, 2007

Okay you make the luxury living choice for yourself. However, Kristin can make the healthy living choice for herself. If you two can live in peace and you put an end to the male criticism of my sister… I promise to never use the “word” on your blog again.

I must agree with diet Jordan. It tastes best straight from the udder (warm and filling).

  14. Diet Jordan on September 24th, 2007

Thank you, Andrew Ryals. I also prefer unpasteurized…
