Meet the Band – Kristin Rippy 1

Today’s Meet the Band post features my wife, Kristin. Kristin and I have been married for nearly four years. Getting to lead worship with her is one of my greatest joys in life. I’m sure you’re going to love learning a little bit more about her.

5 Months 0

Isabella was born exactly five months ago today. Fun fact – Shortly after Bella was born Kristin said, “May the 4th be with you”. Yes. A star wars joke. I don’t think the med had worn off completely. Here are a few things that have changed in our lives in the last five months:

  • We go to bed earlier. I constantly find myself saying things like, “It’s only 9:30!?”
  • We wake up earlier. Kristin and I are always saying things like, “Is it 8am? I can’t believe we slept so late.”
  • We laugh even more.
  • I drink coffee.
  • Kristin and I get called ma’am and sir more frequently. And not by grade school kids who are learning their manners. More like people who are old enough get bachelor’s degree.
  • I have learned that I would rather be pooped on than spit up on.
  • I find that I am less tolerant toward people who are always late. What’s your excuse?
  • I can multitask while multitasking.
  • A “good night’s sleep” is one that’s disrupted less than three times.
  • Friday night is no longer any different than any other night of the week.

Despite a few changes here and there our life is pretty much the same…We just have a little lady with us everywhere we go. She’s quite the trooper. She also does at least 227 cute things a day.

Access Set 10/3/2010 2

Had another great weekend here at Access. Last week we had one big celebration service in the new location. Today we were back to two services and it was great! Loved hearing the congregation sing loud on “The Anthem” and “Show Me our Glory”. Those songs have taken on a life of their own. My good friend, Josh Oswald, was in town for a really short visit. It’s always great to have him around. Love that guy. Some of you may be wondering if I messed up on the first verse of the first song in first service and just decided to make up my own words. Yes. Yes I did.

Holding Nothing Back – Tim Hughes
Love Came Down – Brian Johnson
The Anthem – Planetshakers
Show Me Your Glory – Jesus Culture

In other Access news, Isabella loved her first week in the nursery!

Just the Two of Us 0

Last night Kristin and I went on our first “just the two of us” date since Isabella was born. We’ve been lots of places with Bella. We’ve taken her to several movies, traveled to multiple states, and even flown with her. She’s a great baby but she’s definitely passed the phase of sleeping through movies in the theater. She’s definitely found her voice. In fact, her new thing is screaming. She loves to scream. She’s not even mad. She just screams because she likes the way it sounds. So our good friend Jerrica came over and watched Bella while Kristin and I went to Bone Fish and saw The Social Network. Our meal was fantastic and we loved the movie! This is why we couldn’t take Bell:
