Bella’s First Concert 2

Kristin and I caught John Mayer live for the third time on Friday night. This was the best John Mayer show I’ve seen. The Battle Studies songs translated well in the live format and Steve Jordan was insane on the drums. Having him join the live line-up changes the entire feel of the band. If you have followed this blog for any length of time you know that Kristin and I love John Mayer. We saw him live right before we got married and again shortly after.

Bella loved the show. Anytime things got really loud she would kick like crazy. I can’t wait to meet her.

New Guitar 4

I’ve been considering the purchase of a Gibson L-4a for quite some time.  I have a Gibson L-130 that has become my primary guitar. Love the smaller size of the L series.  So anyway, here’s the new guitar. Also, if you’re interested in purchasing a Taylor 310-ce with a brand new case, shoot me an email.

Dave Matthews Band – Tampa 2

Last night Kristin and I went to the Dave Matthews Band show in Tampa. It was phenomenal. It was even more enjoyable than our last experience because we didn’t get soaked. I said it last time, but concerts always make me realize how much I love the common interests Kristin and I have.

#41 was amazing because Boyd Tinsley soloed for quite the extended period of time. Also, Jeff Coffin filled in for an injured LeRoi Moore. He was unbelievable. He totally owned “Grey Street” and “Two Step”. Tim Reynolds was also a nice addition. At times Tim’s presence made the feel of this show very different than the typical DMB style. It was good though. Some of the songs they really geared toward electric. Carter opened up the hi-hats and gave several tunes (including “Two Step”) a more rock feel.

Overall it was a ridiculous show. The visual displays were amazing as always and the band played great. Also, never a bad thing to hang out with Drew Allen.
